Time Flies

One week from today my little man, Keagan, will be off to “school”.  Okay, maybe I’m being silly-it’s not REAL school-it’s still at his daycare center but in a sense it is school. It will be like nothing he’s really ever had before. They will be treated as if it is real school, they will have little class & home projects to complete, and for the first time ever he will start coming home with homework. I can’t help but to be excited. I love to watch his mind expand and as he comes home learning new stuff everyday and hearing the excitement in his voice that can only do one thing for me…..Make me excited for him! But on the flip side of the coin it’s a little sad to me. As I was sitting packing his book bag with all his goodies to take for the first day I couldn’t help but get a little nostalgic and have the fact of how fast time flies hit me square in the head.

It seems like just yesterday I was in high school-Now I’m hearing and reading about my 10 year high school reunion that just passed.

It seems like just yesterday I was living in Charleston and met Aaron . We have now been together for 6 years.

It seems like just yesterday Keagan was born and now I’m packing his book bag for him to start Pre 4.

It seems like just yesterday our newest little addition, Easton, was welcomed into this world. I’m now preparing to pack up his infant care seat, watching him hit his milestones, and watching a brotherly bond unfold in front of my eyes.

It seems forever away for the day to come that I really will be walking Keagan up for his first day of “real” school but really it isn’t. In as fast as I can blink my eyes our youngest is already almost 8 months.  In another blink Keagan will be in school, in another Easton will be, and in another and another we will watch them change from little boys to young men, having girlfriends, driving, sports….

  1. It seems like yesterday when I first met you…you were 9. It seems like yesterday when we went on our first shopping trip to the mall, trying on silly hats and picking out the “Paul Sabastian” cologne for Father’s Dady for your Dad….(that’s what he still wears now) ….hold on to every moment….the older you get the faster time seems to fly….

  2. I remember that!!! That was so fun to me. Something I never got to really do. I probably could count on one hand how many times I had been to a mall before then. And anytime I smell Paul Sabastian on a guy/man to this day I think of Dad!
