100% Organic Meal at the Schrock House Tonight

Okay so I broke down and decided to make a totally organic meal and see how we like it. Honestly, once you get the staple ingredients in your house then really organic isn’t that much more expensive. I’m not saying every meal and every ingredient will always be organic but Aaron and I have definitely decided to make more of a conscious effort to eat this way due to all the side effects to the foods these days:

  • Just to name a quick few: 75% of antibiotics made in this country are used on, not humans, but rather HEALTHY animals!!
  • Almost 100% of our meat that isn’t organic has been fed with animal by-products which include but not limited to: blood, fat, meat, bone meal, and even chicken feces. They also include arsenic based drugs, sewage sludge, antibiotics, growth hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides.
  • One study found obese kids as likely to be depressed as kids undergoing chemotherapy for cancer…

Now off of my soapbox and back to my meal….. Chicken and Veggie Stir-fry!

Ingredients:

Mushrooms, Green Peppers, Red Peppers, Onion, brocoli, Sugar Snap Peas, & Cut Chicken

We combined all the ingredients into our wok and let it simmer for a short while. Then we added a very yummy sauce new to this household-Roasted Pepper Sesame Sauce.

In the mean time I steamed some rice to go along with this yummy entree, topped it with some almond slivers and

VOILA! It’s delicious! and healthy in so many ways!!!

  1. That looks awesome!

    • Oh Jacq, it was!!! And it made a ton! I am so excited for dinner tonight because we’ll be having leftovers! It’s also so fun to figure out what to make next. The only thing you have to be careful of is the fresh veggies only stay good for a couple of days so i have to keep reminding myself when I shop to not buy in bulk….

  2. Way to go Jessica! It sounds & looks delicious!
I am so excited for you & Aaron!
I can remember when you were sitting at my kitchen table and said,
“I don’t know how to cook anything.”
And Now, You are a GREAT COOK!
I love all of you! Maggie

    • I was just thinking about those days the other day, Maggie. I was so proud once I started having hamburger helper ready for him when he would get home….How things change. 🙂 And thank you! We love you too!
